Health Insurance Scheme For Bank Staff

Dear Shri Acharya & Sri SC Jain,

We have for reference your letter dated 30.6.2019, signed jointly with Sri SC Jain, addressed to IBA in mediclaim insurance matter.

Do you really believe in, IBA would look into your points? When scheme was imposed, were you consulted or had you cited government opinion of 2012? Didn't you know or understand, whatever Scheme is, it is jointly framed by UFBU & IBA?

Your letter in question is really frustrating and dismaying to entire retiree fraternity, as it hasn't dealt with the basics of scheme. We don't know, how IBA can go on CGS pattern of one time payment or grant you bonanza, when UFBU, party to settlement is mum?

You haven't talked at all for free health cover to a minimum threshold to all retirees or talked of subsidizing premium or pointed out about Welfare Funds, which are being shiphoned by top ranking executives to bottom line PTC of Banks. Retirees are equally entitle to have the benefits of Welfare Funds, as per government directive in WF matter. Earlier, all banks were doing something for retirees out of WF. Most banks had free health cover, cost being born from WF, but since new scheme came into operation, the same was withdrawn. That way Banks saved crores.

Could the Retirees Unions, which you represent for over two and a half decades, show any good done to retirees? Any achievement? Any movement turning into achievement? You have just collected subscriptions, levies, held meetings, conferences, got garlands & gifts etc. Is it really not? Pensioners are aging, ailing, tiring, terminating from this world, but you people just keep up showing and doing useless things of no relief. You spend lakhs on dharana, but you never step in court for justice. May we know the reasons?

You both are just handkerchief of your mentors, being used to soak their sweat & dirts. You have never been rose up, really to a trade union standards, for the reasons best known to you. What's the fear you succumb to? Are you afraid of failure? First, you should have thought over fights, failure or success was secondary. Only cowards don't proceed to fight, presuming failure. You should have looked back to the history of bank employees movement, which always waged crucial battles with no concerns of failure or success. Look to Pension demand. All unions, Banks, IBA & govt were one as against AIBEA which spearheaded war for Pension. AIBEA did head to victory all alone. Necessary determination you dont have. Just you are pretending to be doing something, but of no relief.

Please introspect yourselves, make heart searching, assess & reveal your relevance in present day plights and agony of bank Pensioners' fraternity. You are just empty vessel. Retirees just whole heartedly support you, but you fail to show up.

We know, truth is bitter to speak and swallow too. But, seeing your pathetic conditions, exercise restrain was next impossible.
