Nice Step Towards Medical Care Improvement

Delhi government  has decided to pay 100% hospital bills of an accident victim which in my opinion  is a very good step taken by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.  I hope other states will also try to follow it. It will be better if Kejriwal  led AAP government puts onus of taking accident  victim to best possible hospital in shortest possible time on some  responsible department and fix accountability  on persons who fail  to discharge their duty honestly and devotedly.

Such a nice step should not turn to be a mere formality and should not be used by anyone as a tool to earn money by inflating or fabricating bill. Government  has to keep in mind that many people possess medical insurance of considerable good amount. Now if Delhi  government  reimburse full hospital  bills of medically insured  accident victim it will be double payment to victim. Because as an insurer , insurance company is bound to mdke reimbursement of hospital  bills to a specified extent, say 75% or 100% depending  upon term if policy.

It is important  to mention here that it is always  easy to frame a good policy but it is always difficult  to ensure  its compliance  in true spirit. However I hope Kejriwal led AAP Aam Admi Party government  will try to make this step a real success and which in turn may award in many ways.  At  least victims and their family members will give him a lot of blessings which will  in long run result inpoliticdl gain.

He will undoubtedly  gain in political field.
God bless Kejriwal.

I am happy that he has also taken a dare devil step by cancelling licence of erring  Max hospital in short time after a wrongful  and  ill-motivated declaration of a newly born baby as dead by the hospital.  Though such hasty decision might have some repercussions in other areas like ptotest from doctors fraternity but this stern action will definitely  send a crystal clear message to looter and exploiting medical fraternity.

Similarly Haryana  government  has also taken  hard action against erring Fortis hospital which made a false and fabricated  bill of Rs18 lakh for treatment  of a dengu patient  who eventually died after 15 days..

Both these steps will prove a milestone in bringing about long desired reformation in medical  sector.

It is praiseworthy  that even  central government has taken prompt  and active step in suppor of above  two steps and  has   through IMA issued stricter guidelines  for all private hospitals to stop ongojng exploitation  of patients. I am sure state as well as central government will also improve  the pathetic position  of government hospitals too.

I hope in coming days  we will see some improvement in medical care. God bless Modi due to his concerted  effort  and  monitoring, system is improving  in all  departments.

Following is the news published today which says that the proposal has been approved  by the cabinet  and will be sent to LG.  Now LG  has to assess merit  of the proposal from legal, financial  and other relevant angles.  Kejriwal  is a political  person and habituated  to play games  with LG and then malign Modi . KEJRIWAL instead of consulting LG before taking a decision announce it in public domain to win sympathy vote in election.

Victims of road accidents, fires and acid attacks would be given free treatment if rushed to a private hospital, with the Delhi government picking up the tab.

The Delhi Cabinet on Tuesday approved the scheme that is aimed at saving the lives of accident victims, Health Minister Satyendar Jain said. Mr. Jain had first announced the scheme on March 10. The proposal would now be sent to Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal for approval

Following news says about intent of central  government  to improve  medical  care facilities and improving services of hospitals.

The government on Monday said it will increase the total health expenditure to 2.5% of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2025, from the current 1.15%, with more finance flow to the states, in a bid to achieve Universal Health Coverage.
“In union budget 2017-18, the government increased budget for health sector by 27.7% and National Health Policy (NHP) 2017 released this year also envisages to increase health expenditure as a percentage of GDP from the existing 1.15% to 2.5 % by 2025,” health minister J.P. Nadda said. “The Government through the 14th Finance Commission also increased devolution of finances from 32% to 42% of divisible pool—an increase estimated at Rs25 lakh crore over award period to provide States with greater flexibility and autonomy to design, implement and finance schemes,” he said.
The health ministry has announced that 150,000 sub-health centres will be transformed into health and wellness centres for providing comprehensive primary care.
