IBA And UFBU Talk Fails

Bank unions to go ahead with strike on December 18

K.R. SRIVATS--Business Line --15.12.2013

Bank unions will go ahead with their planned all-India strike on December 18, C.H. Venkatachalam, General Secretary of All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) has said.
The offer made by the Indian Banks Association (IBA) at the wage talks today in Mumbai was not acceptable to the bank unions.
This has prompted the bank unions to go ahead with the strike, Venkatachalam said.
Bank unions and IBA are currently in talks for the 10th bipartite settlement of wages for the banking industry.
The wage revision is due from November 1, 2012.
CHIEF LABOUR COMMISSIONER

Both the IBA and Bank Union representatives have been called by the Chief Labour Commissioner on December 16th for conciliatory talks, which will be held in the capital.
