Sri Narendra Modi,
Hon'ble Prime Minister,
GOI, New Delhi
Respected Prime Minister,
Bank Pensioners Plights
Regardful Greetings & Good Wishes to you, Sir, on behalf of over 4.5 lakh Bank Pensioners.
Respectfully, we invite your kind attention to the plights of Bank Pensioners, about which Hon'ble Finance Minister, Rev Nirmala Sitharaman has expressed her concerns in her press interview dated 29.10.20, as well as spoke to Bankers directly, while addressing the AGM of IBA on 10.10.20. On her intervention, some forward move is heard, but at very snail pace.
Every day some one of Bank Pensioners passes away, of course, with pension updating as their last wish. We need not to say, how are they living under extreme financial distressed conditions, due to no pension revision. It's imaginable.
Sister Nirmala's generosity and kind words in favour, have not gone down well to CPI/ CPM/ Congress controlled Bank Unions.
Bank Pensioners are very much afraid and apprehensive of these Unions that they might play mischief in pension updating. Unions fear is, if updating is settled at her instance, it would be a severe blow to their hegemonic credibility & hold on bank men across the industry.
We have had conveyed our fears, apprehensions and concerns to Hon'ble Finance Minister & Secretary, DFS as well with an earnest request to ward off any such attempt from IBA or Unions to drag or block pension updating. Urged them for expeditious updating.
Hon'ble Prime Minister, please be merciful to Bank Pensioners, who are reeling under extreme financial distress due to their no pension revision since fixed on meagre basic pay they drew on retirement, since 1.1.1986.
All Bank Pensioners are starring towards you, for resolution of their 3 decade old pension updating issue. Please bestow on them justice even at this belated stage, for which they shall remain thankful to your government.
With Respectful Regards,

Respected Sister,
Bank Pension Revision
Greetings & Regards on behalf of over 4.5 lakh Bank Pensioners.
Respectfully, we invite your kind attention to our letter dated 30.11.2020 on subject matter.
Bank Pensioners, passing under extreme financial distress, due to no pension revision, look to you as last ray of hope.
Your generosity and kind words, expressed in recent past about bank pensioners, have not gone down well to CPI/Congress controlled AIBEA & INBEF, NCBE Unions.
Bank Pensioners are very much afraid and apprehensive of these Unions that they might play mischief in pension updating. These Unions fear is, if uprating is settled at your instance, it would be a severe blow to their hegemonic credibility & hold.
Working bank men are not happy with their Unions, irrespective cadre. They are demanding CPC or some different kind of Banking Pay Commission, in place of existing bilateral system for their wages & service conditions.
We have had expressed our fear to Sri Debashis Panda, Secretary, DFS vide our letter dated 9th Dec.2020, with an earnest request to please ward off any such attempt on Unions part in collusion with IBA to drag or block this issue any more. We earnest urged him to ensure resolution of updating expeditiously.
All Bank Pensioners are starring towards you, for resolution of their 3 decade old pension updating issue. Please bestow them justice even at this belated stage, for which they shall remain thankful to your government.
With Respectful Regards,

Dear Sir,
PENSION UPDATING
We are thankful for your accord to update Family Pension at 30% of last pay drawn without any ceiling. We convey our gratefulness for your kind gesture shown in this regard.
Every day some one of Bank Pensioners passes away, of course, with pension updating as their last wish. We need not to apprise you, how are they living under extreme financial distressed conditions, due to no pension revision. You are seasoned enough to imagine it.
Despite, Hon'ble Finance Minister's very straight and clear words in our favour, which she spoke in her interview dated 29th October, 2020, interacted with you & with Sri Dinesh Khara ji, SBI Chairman and also to all Bankers while addressing Annual General Meeting of IBA on 10th Nov.2020, we have great sense of fears & apprenensions that operating Unions might play mischief to drag or block pension updating. You might have observed, Hon'ble Finance Minister's generosity shown towards former bankers plights, has not gone down well with Unions, even they didn't formally congratulate her. In fact, their fear is that if pension updating is done at her instance, it would give them severe blow and impair their hegemonic credibility and hold on bank men across the industry.
Bank Pensioners are in utter frustration to see things moving on snail pace. Despite your sincere efforts in right direction, in absence of any apparent information about the progress, propaganda mills continue generating only mistrust, distrust among banking fraternity, around the clock.
Honestly speaking, the strong bond of faith & good will, between existing & former Bankers, have had dwindled, lost and replaced by distrust & mistrust.
However, we believe in your human values and look forward for your all out efforts on priority basis in this regard. We are sure, your efforts would culminate into happy ending of this 3 decade old issue, with all laurel to you and to your team.
Respectful Regards,
(J. N. Shukla)
