Some people and some of media houses have been continuously presenting painful picture of migrant labourers and pinpointing their accusing fingers towards shortcomings of administration, state governments and central government. Some journalists are habituated to eat dirty commodities, spoil their mindset and vomit the same on TV channels and social sites. This create an atmosphere of fear, pain and negativity. It is they who are making entire environment dirty and stinking.
It is the demand of time that media at least portray positive picture of Corona Pandemic so that fear of corona is reduced to minimum. And it a undeniably a fact that India is least affected of Covid 19 in international community and recovery rate is also the highest in the world.
Media men in particular and we all individuals in general are expected to help people in pain and send a positive message to all . We must stop and refrain from terrorising people and ridiculing government and administration who are really working devotedly .
As I have observed, Government has been doing the best and there is no stop in spending and arranging resources buses and trains for the purpose . There are more than four crore labourers all over the country. One may visualize the burden government has to lift with available resources in shortest time frame and in such a critical period when ensuring social distancing norms and wearing of mask is a must.
It gives me great pleasure in saying that police personels, cleaning workers, medical care workers, administrative staff in general are working with all sincerity and devotion and which I never found during PreModi era. In addition, many social organisations and individuals are engaged in serving poor by using all best possible means they can afford.
Can you not imagine how much difficult this task is?
It is Management of our respected Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi and cooperation of all state governments that pain of people particularly migrant labourers and students have been minimised to minimum possible extent. But media people are projecting few painful pictures day and night to make the situation pitiable and emotional. Media men consider themselves as super human beings. Media men in general will do nothing to solve the problems but definitely project one fault ignoring ninety nine success stories of those who are engaged in serving people in pain . Similarly few individuals and politicians are bent upon ridiculing acts of government without contributing an inch in traversing this long and critical journey.
Fact is that much bigger and painful problem will arise when these labourers get no job after reaching their home villages and on the other hand factories all over the country will face unimaginable trouble in resuming functions related to production in want of experienced workers. This painful predicament will cause larger pain in coming days. This too, we will have to keep in mind and persuade labourers to stay where they are and we including government have to help them in doing so if needed.
People who are abusing government for not adequately helping labourers in reaching their hometown, will later accuse government of committing a mistake of taking labourers back to their workplace to hometown.
Politics is all where. If prices of essential commodities go up, opponents will complain of price rise and when it does not go up, they will complain that government is not giving proper compensation to farmers for eatables they produce.
We have to see and perform what best is possible and what is being done and above all, what we may contribute in giving relief to people in pain. ---Danendra Jain 21.05.2020
