An Appeal To Prime Minister

To
The Honourable Prime Minister of India,
Government of India,
South Block,
New Delhi - 110001.

Respected Sir,

I draw your kind attention towards present pathetic condition of Bank retirees irrespective of cadre and post.

Sir, whenever country demands we worked exceptionally with full force and implemented all schemes and policies framed by the Government duly appraised by you time to time. But in the last lap of our life on or after retirement we are facing financial strains. We request you to kindly pay attention towards under noted long pending issues and arrange to address suitably.

a) Pension updation and revision of family pension
Revision of Pension and family pension not effected since the year of 1987. You will be surprised to know that still family pension range is from Rs. 1435 to Rs. 4784 maximum.

b) Payment of gratuity with retrospective effect from 01.01.2016 as in case of Central government employees, RBI, BSNL and other PSUs.

c) Sir, in old age we need medical care of our ill health and proper medical facilities case of any illness. We appraise your AAYUSHYAMAN medical Insurance for Rs. 5.00 lakh extended free for citizens of India but in case of Retirees are bound to pay a very high premium about Rs. 9000 to Rs. 12000 for a meager Rs.3.00 lakh mediclaim policy provided only in case of hospitalization prohibiting domiciliary treatment.

d) Sir, the list of pending issues are very long from which I have mentioned some major ones.

We have made several representations through different forum like unions, retirees organisations but no relief ever been seen for betterment of our conditions.

I request your immediate action to provide relief for bank retirees for which I as retired Ex Bank Employee will remain ever grateful to you.
Submitted for your kind consideration, Sir

Yours faithfully,

  1. Hike of salaries depends on profit of the Bank but not in case of Railway employees,Income tax employees and employees of all other Government departments. This is a case of dis rimation. We Bankers collect cash from Railways and all department deposit at our branches and backbone of financial transactions and providing all the facilities to customers with hardwork and extra work is being done by us due to shortage of staff. We demand for uniform wages for all.
