From Senior Citizen to PM

At the outset congratulations for all your acheivements. I wish you success in all your endevaours i.e Make in India, Swatch Bharath Digital India etc

My humble request please, don't trouble the Senior Citizens.

1. I Request you to pay Interest on SCSS (Senior Citizen Savings Scheme) in all nationalised banks  at least  10 percent per year .  Currently it is paid 7 to 8.6 percent.
Interest payable quarterly to be paid  monthly.
Raise the limit from 1 lacs to 50 lacs for tax free interest..
As senior citizens will be able to get Rs 25000 to 50000 as monthly intetest peacefully and gracefully without depending on their children. Please Do not deduct tax on their interest and do not ask them to  fill form 15 H etc.
The period of investment should be for 15 years and not five years.
As the span of life will not be more.
Please Pass a resolution or act  immediately to this effect and ensure that  the interest rates is never  reduced by any bank  but increased to fight inflation if needed.

2. Raise the limit of Income tax from three lacs to ten  lacs for SC.
No returns to be filed if income of senior citizen  less than ten lac for SC.
At most ,if government wants to tax them If income exceeds 5 lacs govt   may tax at 10 percent on income exceeding 4 lacs. It should be ensured that SC are  not  affected by any political weather.

3. Provide medicines to senior citizens on submission of Adhar card, a flat 50 percent reduction in the cost of medicines across the country.
Similarly on all pathalogy checkups, treatments and operations if any.
Specially dental has become very expensive.
Even the medical premiums paid may be reduced accordingly.

After working for three to four decades SCs should live a life with utmost  respect and dignity and live a peaceful and decent life.
We are not asking a big amount but only exemption from tax. Pl note that in most of spending  we are constrained to pay tax in addition to tax on income. This is double taxation ,one on income and other on expenditure.

You will appreciate now a days parents have become a burden to the children and they leave them to fight their own battle.
They are career minded and self centered. Senior Citizens are shy to share this fact as they still love their children and do not demand anything from them. And it  is their family culture not to give up their children at any cost how ever may be their sufferings.

We Senior Citizens  hope you will take care of us .

This is a humble request and hope good sense will prevail and you will implement as soon as possible to give a great releif to senior citizens to end their sleepless nights. We have no intentions to offend you or hurt you, but we want to live in peace and with dignity.
You are also a senior citizen and you may realize problems faced by SC in modern era.

Working people resort to frequent strikes for wage hike but retired people have to depend on only interest income or pension if any.

Grievance Description	:	Indian Airlines a is providing 50 per cent Senior Citizen Discount on Normal Economy Class fare for all domestic flights to Indian senior citizens who have completed the age of 65 years in the case of male senior citizens and 63 years in the case of female senior citizens subject to certain conditions. 2. Air India is offering discount of 55% to senior citizens of 60 plus on flights to USA, UK and Europe on economy class. Further, Air India has now decided to reduce the age of 60 plus for discount on their domestic routes as well with immediate effect. For Identity card, 2 passport sized photographs have to be submitted along with the form. Railways are allowing concessions to senior citizen at the age above 60 to male and above 55 to female. I would like to know why different departments have different standard for senior citizens.

Details	:	A Senior Citizen of Indian Nationality, permanently residing in India of the age of 60 years and above for Men and 58 years and above in case for Women are granted concession in all classes and in the basic fares of Mail/Express Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi/Duronto group of trains. The element of concession is 40% for men and 50% for women. At present, there is no proposal to change the existing rule. The concessional liability is borne by Railways.
