Death rate due to Corona is not that much alarming as it is from other causes like road accidents, due to non wearing of helmet and non use of seat belts, due to depression, due to overeating, due to starvation, due to bad eating and bad drinking, due to smoking, due to cancer like fatal diseases and due to many more varieties of fear which are in fact imaginary in majority of cases.
We have to take preventive steps in all cases where we apprehend some unusual happenings. We have to protect ourselves from threats but not sit idle only because there is a threat. It is just like hundreds of road accidents take place daily but we do not stop plying vehicles on roads. It is always safe to remain locked in house but we cannot afford so because we have to remain live. At the same time we have to use all tools available in our tool box to safeguard us. Ultimately we have to die but we cannot choose the course of suicide.
Challenges come in all acts we do and they will come in whatsoever act we will do in future. We have to overcome them using our skill and not stop activities.
All businesses face progress and failures too. We cannot stop doing business only because there is a chance of failure and at the same time we cannot afford doing a business for which success rate is dismal. We start any activity when we visualize a success keeping all pros and cons in mind. On the same line we have to choose our course of action when there is a risk visible to us on account of Corona pandemic. We cannot and should not ignore suggested safety measures under any circumstances. Because negligence of one person may prove fatal for entire society.
Few people are of the view that since our country , testing is not done in all cases and hence Corona victim is less exhibited in statistics shown in media. Some people say that testing process should be stopped or reduced so that reporting will be less and pain due to fear will be low.
Fact is that testing itself is not at all a cause of sickness, neither a solution . And people do not go for testing by choice or to gain something in return. In fact whenever a person feel uncomfortable in health he or she goes for testing and purpose behind it to start diagnosis in time if it is needed and before it is too late. Therefore testing must be done in all hospitals if a person request for it.
Here it is worthwhile to mention that a culture of periodical whole body checkup is followed by many people because of extensive marketing done by interested businessmen and professionals. They justify it by saying that it helps them in taking timely treatment if there is any hidden disease in the body. I do not prescribe such testing for Corona virus. Because neither do we have adequate resources for it nor it is needed. We have to use our resources related to testing when it is needed. Therefore it is unwise to plead for increase or decrease in testing. In fact testing must be need based.
Some people say that this virus is found in many cases where there are no symptom at all. I am of the view that such cases are few and negligible only. There may be hidden cancer in many apparently healthy body too, but we cannot advocate or afford testing of cancer for entire population. We have to have a pragmatic approach in all situations. We cannot afford to be extremists.
Media men should present the situation as it is , and not try to escalate fear by putting their right or wrong imagination. Similarly politicians should also refrain from using dirty politics to malign image of their opponents but try to treat patient and persons-for-testing as purely a medical issue and let medical workers take care of it freely and without any fear and prejudices.
Duty of every government is to increase resources for treating sick people and never try to hide it or inflate it by their imaginary thoughts. We also have to apply our best wisdom to handle the situation arising out of Corona virus and mitigate pain of people and try our best that sick persons recover soon. It gives us great relief when we see that almost 50 percent of Corona victim recovers after some treatment in hospitals.
Last but not the least, it is the duty of every state government as well as central government that they monitor the situation regularly in its entirety and ensure there is no negligence at any level.
We know very well that in every society there are some people who follow the guidelines issued by government scrupulously and help us in achieving our goal. At the same time there are some persons who ridicule all guidelines and feel proud in violating desired course of action. In such cases it is the duty of the government and that of law enforcement agencies, administration and police system to ensure strict compliance of guidelines. They can impose little fine and gradually increase the punishment if any person prefer repeating the mistake despite warnings.
Under current threat of corona pandemic role of every employee in administration, in healthcare unit, in municipal corporations and in general in all organs of the government increases. They all have to discharge their duty honestly and sincerely and at the same time motivate citizens to follow desired path honestly and sincerely.
We have to keep a harmonic balance between various threats and unavoidable economic activities.
