Is Bankers Anger Against Government Justified?

It is easy to force a government to step down and easy to vote them out but it is very difficult to choose a better government and help it in working. Because as long as a person is focused on self interest ,it is easy for him to become enemy of any government because wants and desire are always unlimited. Poor or middle class or rich whosoever he or she  may be  , everyone has his or her own self interest.

But if a person assess the performance of a government in larger interest of the society and in the interest of the nation as a whole , then he or she will be able to choose and identify a fine government which is honest and really performance oriented.

One who is a begger all the time he cannot be chooser. One who is doner all the time can easily pick up goodness in a person or a party.

One who is positive minded , he can weigh positive points of all and find the best in available things and persons or political parties. But one who is habituated to criticise and blame others will find fault in all persons and parties.

There are bankers who used to abuse Congress Party and UPA govt when and IX Xth BS was delayed. And same group of persons are now abusing present government because they are totally focused on their self interest. They are unable to find where the real fault lies. They have given full powers to their leaders and then they sleep. They do not discuss their problems with their own leaders and neither leaders seek their valued opinions on vital issues. They are least bothered of poor around their house or infrastructure they use or rich who produce goods for us or even about farmers who produce food for us. They simply cry on Facebook and their voice of a anger never reaches to ears of union leaders or IBA or GOI.

In life , everyone has problems , but need of the hour is to solve it or choose a Trade Union or a government which has the intention and potential to solve the problem of maximum people without any discrimination and without and prejudices.

There is no doubt in it that demands raised by bankers for respectable wage hike or demand raised by retired bankers are justified to a great extent. But why do they not put blame on their leaders who play dubious game. Why do they not introspect ?

These leaders call strike on non_issues but not for wage hike. They do not support quicker and better wage hike . They want inordinate delay in BS. Why employees of central government or state government get success in all their demands even when they go for a day strike?

These union leaders do not expose top executives who are creating Huge High  value bad loans. They do not teach their staff members to maintain honesty and sincerity in sanction of loans and in recovery of bad loans. They should teach their members to stop flattery and have courage to out negative points of a loan proposal without any fear or greed.

Why in lust of quicker promotion and finer posting some staff compromise with morality and normal standard of ethics?

Why trade union leaders apply their power only to save dishonest workers and why not fight for quicker promotion for real honest and hard workers and true justice for all?

Why are they always Silent spectator when even in high value bad loans which are sanctioned by board or top executives, accountability us fixed on a few junior level JMG or MMG officers. Are top executives not punishable when a loan of Rs 10 crore and above turn NPA.?

If they do so they will help in creation of  good culture in banks and create an emotionally strong workforce which used to be upto 1980. Honesty and integrity and sincerity to work of bank staff in general  was of highest standard upto 1980. Why after that it faced erosion.?

Majority of staff are honest and sincere workers . Only a small section of bank staff has tarnished image of entire banking community. Who are responsible for it?

Bank staff should think why their wages used to be highest during seventi jies and eighties and why the same has faced continuous erosion in each settlement which took place during last four decades .

Need to ponder over it from the core of the heart.

I submit below some comments received on Facebook on above write up and my views thereon for the benefit of all.

Sri KrishnaMohan Mishra writes as follows

Negative waves created by bankers may also become cause of fall of Modi government.

My views: .  Krishnamohan Mishra, it is easy to force a government to step down and easy to vote them out but it is very difficult to choose a better government and help it in working. Sri KM Mishra writes

Jain Danendra it is not only because of bipartite or personal interest,Due to inconsistent policies there is no clarity among investors, lack of finance,no fresh job creations rather retrenchment etc are creating a negative environment for economy at micro and macro level

My views are,,:: .Krishnamohan Mishra

Retrenchment or low rate of employment started when Smt Indira Gandhi was PM. She restricted job in bank to 2% and subsequent ly less than it. This is why from 1980 to 1995 there was almost no fresh employment in bank Government jib brought to zero. It is only private jobs which helped creation of job opportunities after 1991 liberation policies and so called Reformation era in banking. Please see the manpower data of last three decades of each bank you will know the reality of job creation..

Investors are more clear but speculators in stock market ususlly cause loss to investors. Govt can do very little in it. There is no lack of finance from bank. Rather it is over lending and blind lending which spoilt future of banks. What you mean by negative environment I do not know but I know that if TV channels are not watched and reality is seen you will understand that there is large scale positive change in all sphere of life during Modi government. Try to go deep on all matters where you feel hurt.

Sri Nand Verma has rightly expressed his past experiences in bank. I submit his comments on Facebook

I have read the article and am happy to endorse the views of writer, who seems to be aware of the realities of the banking industry.

I joined the bank in 1971 in clerical cadre  with the salary and perks as agreed in second bipartite settlement ( the first settlement done after bank nationalisation under a prime Minister whose govt was dependent on Communist party - the mentor of mighty bank employees trade union Aibea).

The service condition for clerical staff was one of the best among PSUs, added with so many freedom if you are slightly intelligent and can become a union representative even at branch level.

The downward journey started in 1974-75, which denied 3rd settlement due in 1974, further the liberal bonus and overtime was almost finished.

Wage revision was made for bank employees by Janta Party Govt in 1978.
Even for officers a respectable wage settlement was made by standardisation of wages for Public sector banks, (based on the recommendation of committee headed by Justice  Pillai wef 1/07/1979 giving bank officer virtual parity with class 1 officers of Govt of India with scale 1 starting with 700-1800, and the last point of scale 7 was Rs 3500/- which was equal the then  secretary of Govt.

The govt gave a great opportunity for officers of all bank to come under one umbrella ,who were fragmented in  14 group  of  nationalised bank   In addition to SBI and their 7 associate banks organisation.

But the universal truth that when you gain lot of strength , you start behaving erretically.

Most of the officers organisation were full of promoted officer who numbered at least 75% of total officers and naturally an intelligent clerk promoted to officer cadre was successful in getting elected as  secretary at most of the places,( because the workmen union were so powerful that they decided the promotion policy and in many bank like central bank , united bank there was no direct recruitment for general banking officers for more than 10 years after nationalisaton) .

I hope in the greed of giving background , I have diverted from the main issue, which I will like to conclude with comments,
Bank officers or even employees service condition including retiral benifits  has been distorted because of the short sighted, supremacy , egoist attitude of leaders and timid attitude of officers.

Officers would have been in much better position if they would have left their bipartite authority and gone for CPC In 1996 if not in 1986.
