DA For Bank Employees From August 14

WHAT IS THE LIKELY DEARNESS ALLOWANCE INCREASE FOR BANK OFFICERS AND WORKMEN  FROM August 2014 to October,  2014 -By Rajesh Goyal (allbankingsolutions.com)

On the demands of our readers, we have been projecting  likely DA one month in advance based on the CPI details  received for previous two months.   We are only PREDICTING these based on trends.   However, we would like to CAUTION our readers that inflation, especially food inflation, has been fluctuating widely, and thus at this stage it is very difficult to predict the inflation rate for next month.

The exact increase for DA cannot be given at this stage as GOI has yet to announce the CPI for the month of June 2014.   However, based on the CPI already announced for the month of April 2014 and May 2014, we are doing this guess work.   The CPI announced and projected so far  are as follows:-

Although, in the month of May 2014, the DA has decreased by 2.55%, yet now in August, 2014, there will be again increase and DA is likely to cross 100% barrier.   There has been sharp  increase in CPI in the month of April  and May 2014.    The trends of previous years indicate that in June, the inflation usually marginally increases.    Assuming that there will be again only marginal increase  in  CPI for June 2014,  the revised DA is likely to be around 102.15%, (increase of 32 slabs) for the months of August  2014 to October, 2014 (i.e. increase of  34 slabs).  

 [The present DA is  97.35% for the months of  May 2014 to July 2014].
