Strike tomorrow in my view is not at all in support of demands related to wages of bank employees or their career and future, it is perfectly a political strike targeted to weaken central government, tarnish image of BJP and finally serve their political interest, create opposition unity and make a coordinated approach to dethrone NDA from power, stop bank merger, CAA etc
How do you feel?
I think strong and age old unity of bank employees and blind faith on their union leaders are simply exploited by their leaders to serve their selfish interest and nothing more. They seldom call strike for wage revision or pension updating or for restoring justice in applicability date of enhanced gratuity. In the past also these leaders behaved in the same fashion. There is consensus on need of updating pension of Bank retirees as being done in cases of central government employees. There is consensus that enhanced gratuity to be paid to retired employees with effect from same date from which central government employees are entitled. Still our militant trade unions could do nothing till date despite lapse of decades. why?
Union leaders have been opposing merger of banks and so called privatisation of bank for last two decades and more. They opposed computerisation and they advocate for more and technology updation. When political masters of these trade unions go for election campaign they demand waiver of loans, and when they come to bank they oppose writing off of bad loans. And so on....
It is time that bank employees introspect their position, role and capacity of their leaders, role and capacity of IBA, what has been going on in practice for last three decades and what should have happened, why merger is wrong and why not and so on.... After all bank employees are in the category of skilled labour, and they are supposed to be more conscious and prosperity active to protect their interest.
Keeping away all prejudices and age old notions about militancy of bankers, we all should think pros and cons of the matter before it is too late.
Am I wrong?
Should we go on strike only for showing our unity as we have been doing since long?
Or should we focus on bankers interest and national interest without caring who is power at center?
During UPA government bankers ridiculed and abused MMS and now they are doing so for Modi for delay in reaching consensus on Bipartite settlement . How far this stand is justified and fruit fetching?
We have to think over it with peace of mind. Mutual mud slinging is not the solution, abusing on social sites goes futile and just murmuring against leaders and then worshiping them blindly will not yield desired results. .
Banker must organise a national debate to analyse threadbare deeds of the past and to chalk out united and consolidated future course of action. This is my humble appeal to you all. Please excuse me if I am wrong.
God bless you

I'm posting below a few lines of latest new items related to strike tomorrow and give link to it also so that you may also read full text of the news.
CPI leader Atul Kumar Anjaan on January 5 urged national and regional political parties to join the workers and farmers in their nationwide protest on January 8. Ten central trade unions will go on a general strike or ‘Bharat Bandh’ on January 8 “to protest against the anti-labour policies” of the government. Employees of railways have also joined the protest in a show of solidarity.

Today on 8th Jan 2020, I once again posted my appeal on social sites so that bank employees take their individual decision after viewing , self introspection and analysis of current situation.
Strike today in my view is not at all in support of demands related to wages of bank employees or their career and future, it is perfectly a political strike targeted to weaken central government, tarnish image of BJP and finally serve their political interest, create opposition unity and make a coordinated approach to dethrone NDA from power, stop bank merger, CAA etc
If you watch TV today you will observe how in the name of bank strike, opponents of Modi government has started , vandalism, arsoning and creating chaotic conditions by stopping train services too.
Bank employees during their strike never in the past resorted to such goodaism and antisocial activities. Bank employees are famous for peaceful strike. But unfortunately as anticipated earlier, bank strike this time has been converted to antiBJP Bharat Bund and bank employees are nowhere visible.
As I observe left unions and opponents of BJP have all come together to fire bullets from shoulders of innocent bank employees. Take care, I once again appeal to bank employees.

Correct 👌
ReplyDeleteWhen whole Nation is going on strike, unorganized labours are doing, we organized labours should support them and fight at ground level which is need of the hour. If its political move then Unions which supporting respective party alone go on strike, not whole RBI, INSURANCE, STATE GOVT, CENTRAL GOVT DEPT... AT a stretch will go on strike... Find the difference between fighting for your own problem and fighting for the common public issue.
ReplyDeleteBank employees beware u r going to loose one day salary for the sake of opposition party to elected govt.
ReplyDeleteYou know very well the delaying tactics of AIBEA
They now have an opportunity to distract ur attention from your legitimate demand of wage revision.
Pls rethink.
