An Open Appeal By A Pensioner

To,

All UFBU & THEIR CONSTITUENTS,
&
PENSIONERS FEDERATIONS, FORUMS
--------------------------------------------------------------

Subject: Pension Revision, Payments &
               Free Health Insurance:
               -------------------------------------

On invite, we have written a letter in 12th Aug.2018 to all Constituents of UFBU and another post on 19.8.18. It were made public to Bank employees, Pensioners, various Federations/ Forums, Groups etc. We have received over whelming supportive response from across the country. The purpose of this communication is just to precisely concentrate in setting proper agendas and to achieve put forward the viable financial proposals as well. Money is major factor that comes in the way to resolve the demands. Some structural problems too do exist which create hurdles. Having taken into account the long drawn pendencies of Pensioners issues, financial bottlenecks & structural deficiencies thereof we would like to demand as under:

1. Pension (s) be revised at indices of 11th Bipartite Settlement with necessary improvemenrs as in Central Govt. Pension Rules.

2. The Pension Revision Cost in terms of para 1 supra be met from existing Pension Funds. No financial burden on Banks or on financial load negotiated for employees & officers wages & service conditions.

3. Now onward Pension Payments should be made from Banks revenues, as wages & allowances.

4. Make Pension Scheme an integral part of Bipartite Settlement with provision of Periodical Revision as in case of Wages & Allowances.

5. Govt. should give a sovereign guarantee for continuance of Pension Payment to ward off any apprehension in Pensioners mind. Remaining Pension Funds, Govt/Banks may use/manage in advantageous manner they deem fit & proper.

6. Minimum health security up to Rs.3 lakh should be made available free of cost by Banks to all Pensioners. Banks may take group Insurance, play the role of TPA, pay bills/advance in case of serious ailment requiring hospitalisation. Patient be free to take treatment of his choiced hospitals. Present high claim ratio is corruption borne & attributable to TPA-Hospital nexus, which shall continue rising and shall drive out Pensioners from health security. Above Rs.3 lakh, premium should be borne by Pensioners.

We have already discussed in details in our communique of 12th August, 2018.

Undoubtedly, above agendas are tough, but Unions are meant for tough tasks. You are believed by banking fraternity to achieve unachievabls. You are taken as vanguard & trend setter by rest of working class. You & your organizations have had in past all matchless, splendids, historicals, landmarks, milestones in your treasures. So, people, very fairly and legitimately, look to you. It's Pensioners who in their prime youth fought bitter battles under your command, which bestowed upon you laurels as stated above. Hope, you respect their incredible organization building job, which you head today.

But today, they are worst like perishable lot, reeling under financial distress. Lip sympathies don't help. Hunger & diseases are around them. Your trying to feed more to reasonably well fed as against poorly fed & ailing people is criminality by all sense of wisdom.

Our humble appeal is to see Pensioners plights mercifully if not dutifully.

Greetings,
