There is an increase of 2 points in AICPI-IW (2001=100) in July, 2015, as compared to June, 2015. For July, 2015 the index stood at 263.

Basing on this, the minimum hike anticipated in D.A. for Nov. 2015 to Jan. 2016 is by 2.60% (26 slabs).

However, basing on the previous years' history of changes in the index, for August, 2015 and September, 2015 the index may touch 264 points. Thus, the average of index for Sep.2015 quarter is 263.67 (6018 points in 1960 series). 

 In such case, the revised D.A. will be 39.40% signifying an increase of 30 slabs (3.00%) over the current D.A. (36.40%).
