Why Ex-service Men Are Unhappy ?

By Sri Ravi Kumar Narayan (Read Wh Ex Service Men are Unhappy over pay fixation by IBA

Dear all bankers, Good evening.

An Ex-Servicemen has opted for his career in defence to serve the nation. He had to serve for a fixed term of 15 to 20 years according to the need of the service condition. He improves his knowledge and education while in service before his completion of service. He joins services like SSC, PSU such as banks, insurance sector etc. at the age between 40-45 years. Like every ex-servicemen, I also preferred to join Banking Sector.

I was very active participant in the Groups like Bank Wage Revision, 5 Days Banking Supporters, Great Indian Bankers and all bank related groups.

Like me many Ex-Servicemen participated in these groups to know about banking sector. When we compared 20-25 years of service in defence with bank, we thought that, we the Ex-Servicemen definitely can do something in the banking sector towards development of National Interest. Till today we are working on the same line. I hope every banker’s wish is to promote the Nation’s Interest including the ex-servicemen.

I learnt in the banking history that the ex-servicemen since 1986 are fighting for the legitimate rights such pay fixation and unfortunately I am also one of the victims. The ex-servicemen by virtue of his training and inherent thought & action always look for the National Interest rather than personal interest which is turned otherwise because he is put in a situation like denial of his legitimate right of his Military Service Pay etc
.
I submit the following few question to the bankers.

1. Is any Ex-serviceman not eligible to get his pay on par with his service?

2. Being a clerk, Is he allowed to get his pay less than a peon of the same bank with same length of total service of the peon?

3. His length of service, education back round be ignored and compensated and compared with other bank employees.

4. Some authority says he is not eligible for his DA on pension, Military Service Pay etc etc. as if this is going to improve the banking sector or the Government by and large. Please note We are only 1% of the banking sector

5. Even his seniority is denied, and the ex-servicemen is kept abeyance of future growth for his rest of his working life somewhere between 15 to 20 years.

6. Many Ex-Servicemen have opted to stay for same position, as they know more trouble is invited in his working life if he opt for promotion and he has to forgo his family. This was the situation in defence(worked for 24*7 atmosphere and moved all over India and even some Ex-Servicemen to Abroad).

7. Can any official figure out the expenditure incurred towards ex-servicemen on employment in banking service and the percentage of loss incurred for the same in the that industry?
8. What are your real expectations from ex-servicemen, so as the ex-servicemen they can peacefully get his legitimate pay?

9. Unions of Bank are not in a position to support Ex-Servicemen, as the union think the issue is management issue and not their comrades. It is unlikely that we the Ex-Servicemen not supported by union.

10. Ex-Servicemen will not only required for the place where disaster and other natural calamities occur, but they ability is required for banking also. As every Ex-serviceman are pledged to give our lives for the country during defence life and the same imbibed after service also. When we take our rights and our privileges after serving 20-25 years we are treated indifferently.
